Drawing has always been second nature to me. As a child I was encouraged to draw from life and wherever possible still do especially with my own work. Growing up I was lucky enough to be brought up in the beautiful surroundings of Guernsey with beaches, rockpools and nature in abundance. The ancient dolmens and standing stones were all part of my playground and stories of fairies and witches fuelled my imagination.
From Guernsey I went to Winchester to do a years foundation and fell in love with the landscape, vowing to return someday. My next three years were spent at Harrow School of Art studying illustration and I left there with a distinction in 1974. From art school I was fortunate to be employed by the Natural History Museum in London before becoming a freelance illustrator.
In 1985 I moved back to Winchester with my family and now live on the edge of the city surrounded by beautiful downland.
